Secretaire Bookcase

This was probably the biggest job I undertook as I had to completely rebuild this piece. The plinth was about double the depth, which I reduced. The centre sliding door was missing and there was no cornice or pediment. Brass handles now replace the previous wooden knobs.

All repairs and modifications were done using period wood and veneers and when finished, even the professional dealer would have had trouble finding the repairs!
